The experience
The tour opens on the Kings Highway, moving through Madaba, Mount Nebo, and Dana Nature Reserve: Jordan's largest protected area, spanning over 300 square kilometers of sandstone cliffs, canyons, and lush valleys. You'll see Shobak Castle, a Crusader fortress on a hilltop, and Little Petra (Al-Beidha), a smaller Nabataean site a few kilometers north of the main ruins, where carved facades and the Painted House (one of the few surviving examples of Nabataean interior frescoes) sit without the crowds.
Day two is the main Petra visit, starting early and running until around 3 PM. You walk the Siq to the Treasury, the UNESCO World Heritage Site and New Wonder, with time to explore on your own rhythm. That evening you move to Wadi Rum, the Valley of the Moon, where red sandstone mountains and vast desert plains dominate the landscape. You stay overnight in a traditional Bedouin camp under the stars.
On day three, a two-hour 4x4 Jeep tour takes you deeper into Wadi Rum's canyons and natural arches. Then you head north toward the Dead Sea, passing the Gulf of Aqaba (winter visits skip this stop due to short daylight). You float in the mineral-rich waters before returning to Amman. The private air-conditioned vehicle stays with you throughout. The driver handles all fuel, parking, and tolls. Hotel pickup and drop-off in Amman are included, and bottled water is free during transfers.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and French.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is Little Petra, and how does it differ from the main Petra site?
Little Petra (Al-Beidha) is a smaller Nabataean archaeological site just a few kilometers north of Petra, featuring carved tombs, temples, and dwellings cut into pale sandstone cliffs. The Painted House here is one of the few surviving examples of Nabataean interior frescoes. It offers an intimate glimpse into the Nabataean world without the crowds found at the main Treasury.
When do we visit Petra's Treasury, and why does the timing matter?
The main Petra visit starts early in the morning and runs until approximately 3 PM. A licensed local guide times the Treasury visit to avoid the midday crowds, ensuring a smoother and more rewarding experience at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
What happens during the Wadi Rum portion of the tour?
You spend one night in a traditional Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum, the Valley of the Moon. On day three, a two-hour 4x4 Jeep tour takes you through the protected desert wilderness, exploring dramatic canyons, towering cliffs, natural arches, and vast sandy plains. Regular cars cannot access the desert terrain, so the Jeep is necessary.
Is the Dead Sea visit included, and what should I know about it?
Dead Sea floating is included. After Wadi Rum, the tour heads north toward the Dead Sea, passing the Gulf of Aqaba. Note that the Gulf of Aqaba stop does not occur during winter months (November to March) due to short daylight hours, allowing more time at the Dead Sea itself.
What accommodation options are available?
You choose your accommodation level at checkout. Options range from a 3-star hotel with a classic tent to a 4-star hotel with a deluxe tent or bubble tent experience. One night is in Petra (hotel-based), and one night is in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum. Breakfast is included at both locations. Dinner is included in Wadi Rum.
Do I need to arrange transportation to and from Amman?
Hotel pickup and drop-off in Amman are included. A professional English-speaking driver operates a private, air-conditioned vehicle throughout the entire tour, handling all fuel, parking fees, and highway tolls.
