The experience
The route covers 139 miles south from Amman to Petra in about three hours. Once there, you walk through the Siq to the Treasury, the carved facade that dominates the site, then continue to the Monastery and the Altar of Sacrifice before heading to Wadi Rum in the afternoon. The desert landscape shifts as you approach the camp.
You overnight in either a standard tent or a bubble room (whichever is available), and eat a Bedouin dinner with the camp. Breakfast starts at 10 a.m. the next morning. After eating, a jeep takes you north toward the Dead Sea, a two-and-a-half-hour drive. You arrive with time to swim in the mineral-rich water and use the beach before returning to your hotel in Amman.
An air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your Amman location and handles all the driving. You sit as a passenger for the full route. Dead Sea entrance and beach access are covered. Bring swimwear and sunscreen, and expect moderate walking at Petra and a jeep ride through Wadi Rum's sand and rock formations.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 10 years); Infant (under 3).
What is the Treasury at Petra and why is it the main stop on this tour?
The Treasury is the most recognizable carved facade at Petra, a monumental structure carved directly into rose-red stone over 2,000 years ago by the Nabataeans. It sits at the end of the Siq, a narrow canyon approach, and is the first major sight visitors encounter. The tour builds the rest of the day around seeing it and the Monastery beyond.
Can I choose between a tent and a bubble room for the night in Wadi Rum?
You can request a bubble room when you book, but availability is not guaranteed. If a bubble room is not available, you stay in a standard Bedouin camp tent instead. The operator confirms your accommodation option at the time of booking.
How much time do I spend swimming and relaxing at the Dead Sea?
You have roughly two and a half hours at the Dead Sea after arriving from Wadi Rum. This time includes swimming in the mineral-rich water, floating, and using the beach facilities before the drive back to Amman begins.
What meals are included on this 2-day tour?
Dinner at the Bedouin camp on the first night and breakfast at the camp on the second morning are included. Lunch is not covered, so plan to bring snacks or purchase food along the route.
Does the tour include a guide to explain Petra and Wadi Rum?
A tour guide is not included in this package. The driver handles transportation and can answer basic questions, but if you want detailed historical or cultural commentary at each site, you would need to arrange a separate guide or use a guidebook.
