Day two moves into Wadi Rum's desert landscape for a jeep safari with a local Bedouin guide and an overnight stay. Day three ends at the Dead Sea, where you float in the hyper-saline water and apply natural mud before returning to Amman or the airport.

The experience
The route runs south from Amman along the desert highway to Wadi Musa, the town that serves Petra. Your driver picks you up from your hotel or Queen Alia International Airport and handles the full 225-kilometer drive. Petra itself sits 400 meters above sea level. The opposite of where you'll end up three days later. The walk through Al-Siq, a narrow gorge carved by the Nabataeans, opens onto the Treasury, an almost 40-meter-high facade entirely carved into the rock face and decorated with Corinthian capitals and friezes. After lunch in Petra, you can explore the Monastery, the Royal Tombs, the Street of Facades, and the Roman Theater at your own pace. An optional night show runs every day except Friday and Saturday if you want to return after dark.
Day two takes you from Petra into Wadi Rum, a vast desert landscape of pink sand and towering rock formations that has stood in for Mars in The Martian and other films. A local Bedouin driver leads a two-hour jeep safari through narrow gorges and past natural rock bridges. You can add a camel ride if you want, or sit with locals over traditional Arabic tea and watch the sunset from the desert floor. As night falls, the starlit sky opens above the camp. This is where you sleep, not in a hotel. The silence and scale of Wadi Rum are the point. The landscape does the work.
The Dead Sea on day three is Earth's lowest point, roughly 400 meters below sea level, and its water is so mineral-rich that floating happens without effort. You arrive at a resort with pools, restaurants, and a spa, and you have access to the shoreline where salt crystals line the beach. The water itself is warm and buoyant. The real experience is covering yourself in the natural mud along the shore, which locals and visitors have used for centuries. You can buy Dead Sea skincare products before your driver takes you to your final destination: your Amman hotel, Queen Alia International Airport, or a Dead Sea resort if you want to extend your stay. Water is provided on board throughout the three days.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Arabic.
What exactly is the Treasury at Petra, and how do you reach it?
The Treasury is a 40-meter-high facade carved entirely into the mountainside by the Nabataeans, decorated with Corinthian capitals and friezes. You reach it by walking through Al-Siq, a long, narrow gorge that serves as the main entrance to Petra and opens directly onto the Treasury at its end.
Where do you stay in Wadi Rum, and what is a typical evening like?
You sleep in a camp in Wadi Rum itself, not in a town hotel. In the evening, you can enjoy traditional Arabic tea or coffee with locals, watch the sunset over the desert plains, and then experience the starlit sky from your relaxation area around the tents.
Can you actually float in the Dead Sea, or is that just a story?
Yes, the Dead Sea's extreme salinity makes floating effortless and automatic. The water is so mineral-rich that your body rises to the surface without any effort on your part, and the experience is therapeutic and relaxing.
What happens on the last day after you leave the Dead Sea?
After you finish at the Dead Sea resort and the shoreline, your driver meets you in the lobby and takes you to your chosen drop-off: your hotel in Amman, Queen Alia International Airport, or a Dead Sea resort if you want to stay longer. An optional stop in Aqaba is possible if time allows.
Do I need a visa for Jordan, or is there a way around that?
The operator recommends purchasing the Jordan Pass online before your trip. It covers the visa fee and grants access to Petra, Wadi Rum, and other attractions included in this tour.
