The Experience

The tour departs Amman and travels south 139 miles to Petra, the ancient Nabatean city carved into stone more than 2,000 years ago. You walk the narrow Siq pathway to reach the Treasury (al-Khazneh), the monumental entrance carved directly into the rose-red rock face. After exploring Petra, you drive to Wadi Rum in the afternoon for a 2-hour 4WD jeep tour across the desert landscape—the same terrain where "Lawrence of Arabia" was filmed. The towering cliffs rise in shades of brown, red and gold from the sand as you travel deeper into the valley.

You spend the night in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum. Accommodation is in a deluxe tent or bubble tent (your choice depending on which option you select) with air conditioning and a private bathroom; the tent sleeps up to three people. Dinner and evening activities are part of the camp experience, and breakfast is served the next morning before you leave.

On day two, you drive to the Dead Sea, located 400 meters below sea level. The mineral-rich water makes floating effortless; you can choose to swim and have lunch at a Dead Sea resort for an additional fee paid to your driver. Afterward, you return to Amman by mid-afternoon. The entire tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off from Amman, lunch on day one, an air-conditioned vehicle, water and Wi-Fi on board, and the 4WD jeep tour in Wadi Rum.
