The experience
The tour starts at 10 am from Hasan Zawaideh camp, where you can store luggage and drink free tea before departure. A guide leads your jeep through the valley, stopping first at the Martian movie location where films were shot, then climbing the Red Sand Dune: soft and steep enough that running or sandboarding down is faster than walking. You'll visit the Seven Pillars of Wisdom rocks, the 1st-century Nabataean Temple dedicated to the goddess Allat, and Lawrence's House, a 2,000-year-old Nabataean rest stop for caravans that later became famous through T.E. Lawrence's story. The Umm Fruth Rock Bridge stands 15 meters high with hand-carved holes to aid the climb. Your guide photographs you from below.
The day continues through Barrah Canyon and past the Burdah Rock Bridge, which sits atop Jabal Burdah and can be reached by a separate 4-hour hike if you book it separately. You'll stop at Panorama viewpoint for wide desert views, Um Ashreen Mountain for hiking and photos, and Mushroom Rock, a formation shaped by centuries of erosion that offers shade and a lunch break. Late afternoon brings you to the Sunset Viewpoint, where the guide prepares sweet Bedouin tea on a fire while you sit on a mat and watch the sun drop over the panoramic landscape. Then you return to Hasan Zawaideh camp for dinner in a Zarab (traditional Bedouin tent).
You sleep in a camping tent under the stars at the camp. Breakfast runs from 7 am to 10 am the next morning as a buffet at Hasan Zawaideh, after which you head back to the meeting point in front of the camp. The guide speaks English or Arabic, and children from age 2 are welcome. Public transportation options are available nearby if you need them.

Is this one for you?The full day of jeep stops and walking climbs (Red Sand Dune, Umm Fruth Rock Bridge, Lawrence's House) means you're active from 10 am until sunset, so this suits travelers who want to see multiple landmarks and don't mind a full schedule. If you prefer a slower pace or fewer stops, a single-day jeep tour may fit better.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Arabic.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (12 to 16 years); Infant (2 to 11 years).
What is the Red Sand Dune like to climb?
The Red Sand Dune owes its color to iron oxide and is the most famous dune in Wadi Rum. The sand is soft and difficult to walk on, which makes the climb challenging but entertaining. Running or sandboarding down is the fastest way to descend. At the top you get panoramic views of the valley.
Can I visit the Burdah Rock Bridge on this tour?
Burdah Rock Bridge sits atop Jabal Burdah and the jeep tour stops nearby so you can see it from a distance. The full climb to the bridge takes up to 4 hours and is not included in this tour, though it can be booked separately as a hiking tour or upon request.
What meals and drinks are provided over the two days?
Lunch is served during the jeep tour on day one, usually at Mushroom Rock. Dinner (Zarab) is served at Hasan Zawaideh camp after sunset. Breakfast is a buffet at the camp from 7 am to 10 am on day two. Unlimited tea and bottled water are included throughout, plus free tea and drinks before the tour starts.
Where do I sleep, and what is the tent like?
You sleep in a camping tent at Hasan Zawaideh camp under the stars. The operator offers a luxurious panoramic tent with glass siding, subject to availability. Luggage storage is available at the camp reception if you need it during the day.
What time does the tour start and end?
The full-day jeep tour starts at 10 am on day one from Hasan Zawaideh camp. Day two ends after the buffet breakfast, which runs from 7 am to 10 am, when you return to the meeting point in front of the camp.
