The experience
The tour starts with a 7 AM pickup from your Amman hotel. Your first morning covers the Amman Citadel (where Roman temple remains, a Byzantine church and an Umayyad palace stand together), and the Roman Theatre, a 2,000-year-old amphitheater that once seated thousands. Then you drive an hour north to Jerash, one of the world's largest preserved Roman cities outside Italy, where you walk among columns and archways across a landscape that has held its shape for nearly two millennia. The day ends at Ajloun Castle, built in 1184–1188 on a ridge overlooking the Jordan Valley. You have an hour to climb through its rooms and stand where Saladin's army once watched for invaders.
Day two takes you south to Madaba, where the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George holds a 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. A floor-sized artwork made of thousands of colored stone tiles. From there, Mount Nebo rises ahead: a spiritual site where the memorial church of Moses sits among archaeological remains, and the view reaches across the Dead Sea into the West Bank. By 1 PM you arrive at Little Petra, called Siq al-Barid, a smaller canyon carved by the Nabataeans with rock-cut tombs and intricate facades. You spend the night near Petra's visitor center, a short walk from the town.
Day three is Petra itself: a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, carved from rose-colored stone in the 3rd century BC. You walk the famous Siq, a narrow gorge that opens onto the Treasury, a 40-meter facade decorated with Corinthian capitals and figures. Beyond it lie the Djinn Blocks, three enormous monuments whose purpose remains unknown, and many other carved chambers and passages. In the late afternoon you drive to Wadi Rum, the Valley of the Moon, where towering sandstone mountains rise from rust-colored sand. You stay overnight in a Bedouin-style camp and eat Zarb, meat and vegetables cooked in an underground oven, under the open sky.
The final two days move you toward the Dead Sea. You leave Wadi Rum at 8 AM and pass through Aqaba, Jordan's coastal city on the Red Sea, where you can swim and snorkel if you choose (the activity is optional and not included). By afternoon you reach the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, where the mineral-rich water holds you afloat without effort. You have the full day to float, rest and move slowly. Breakfast is included at your accommodation. You check out the next morning and return to Amman. Your driver speaks English and the car carries Wi-Fi, cold drinks and a power bank.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (10 to 17 years); Child (3 to 9 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What is the Madaba Map and why does it matter?
The Madaba Map is a 6th-century mosaic floor in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, made of thousands of colored stone tiles arranged to show the geography of the Holy Land. It is one of the oldest surviving maps of the region and a rare example of Byzantine religious art on this scale.
Can I swim in the Dead Sea, and what makes it different from other bodies of water?
Yes, you float in the Dead Sea on day five. The mineral content is so high that your body rises naturally to the surface without effort. You cannot sink. The water is roughly ten times saltier than the ocean, which is why swimming feels weightless and why the region has been known for thousands of years as a place of healing.
What happens in Wadi Rum, and is there anything to do besides the camp?
You spend the night in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum and eat a traditional meal cooked underground. Optional activities like a 2-hour 4x4 jeep tour with your driver, camel riding, and stargazing are available but not included in the price. Sunset yoga without an instructor is also an option. The jeep tour would show you Laurence Spring, the little bridge, Khazali canyon and the sand mounts.
Do I need to pay extra for entry to Petra and the other archaeological sites?
Yes. Little Petra admission is included, but you pay separately for Jerash (10 JD), Ajloun Castle (3 JD), Madaba (1 JD), Mount Nebo (3 JD), Petra, and Wadi Rum (5 JD). Your driver will help you with these payments at each site.
What is included in the price, and what do I need to arrange myself?
The tour includes the air-conditioned car and English-speaking driver, pickup and drop-off at your Amman hotel, breakfast and dinner each day, Little Petra admission, and a power bank. You arrange and pay for your own hotel accommodation in Amman (night one), Petra (night two), and the Dead Sea (nights three and four), or you can choose the accommodation option at checkout. Site entry fees, other meals, and any optional activities like the Wadi Rum jeep tour are not included.
