The experience

The day starts with hotel pickup between 8 and 9 in the morning, then a scenic boat ride out to Koh Ma. You get two separate snorkeling stops instead of one, which means more time actually in the water exploring the coral and the fish rather than rushing between sites. The first stop runs about 50 minutes, the second closer to 90 minutes, so you can move at your own pace and linger where the marine life is thickest. Snorkeling gear and life jackets are provided. All you bring is comfort in the water.

After the boat ride back to Koh Lanta around midday, you break for a Thai lunch and recharge before heading into Thung Yee Peng mangrove forest. The kayaking portion runs from early afternoon until mid-afternoon, paddling through narrow waterways where the mangroves create a natural corridor. If paddling is not your preference, a traditional longtail boat ride through the same forest is available instead. Either way, the guide points out wildlife (crabs, birds nesting in the roots, monkeys moving through the canopy), and the pace is gentle, built around watching rather than covering distance. The day ends with a transfer back to your hotel by late afternoon.
