The experience
The day starts with hotel pickup and a boat ride to Koh Aung, a small island in open water where you'll have time to photograph the scenery. From there the boat continues to Skull Cave, a sea cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites. You can climb inside to explore or stay aboard and photograph from the water, depending on what suits you. The route then heads to Talabeng Island, where the kayaking begins. You paddle around the island's perimeter, spot sea caves from water level, and have time to swim and rest on the beach.
After lunch at a mangrove restaurant with fresh fruit and drinks, you paddle back through the mangrove forest itself. This is where the wildlife shows up: monkeys, birds, crabs, and fish move through the trees and water as you paddle at your own speed. The boat returns you to your hotel by late afternoon. The trip runs about seven hours total, mixing boat time with active paddling, so you're not sitting the whole day but also not paddling continuously.

Is this one for you?Book this trip if you want to paddle on your own rather than watch from a boat: the kayaking sections let you set your own speed and explore sea caves and mangrove channels at close range. The mix of boat travel and active paddling means you're not committing to seven hours of continuous paddling, so it suits people who want kayaking as part of a larger island day rather than the whole focus.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 10 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What's the difference between climbing Skull Cave and taking the boat route around it?
Skull Cave has stalactites and stalagmites inside, and you can climb up to explore them directly if you're comfortable with stairs. If climbing isn't for you (whether due to age, fitness, or preference), you stay in the boat and photograph the cave from the water while others are inside. Both options happen on the same stop, so the group doesn't split.
How much of the day is actually spent kayaking versus on the boat?
You kayak around Talabeng Island and through the mangrove forest, which makes up roughly the second half of the day after lunch. The first half is boat travel to the islands and caves. The mangrove paddle is at your own pace, so you control how fast or slow you move through the trees.
Will I see wildlife, and when?
Monkeys, birds, crabs, and fish are most visible during the mangrove paddle in the afternoon. The guide will point them out as you paddle, though sightings depend on the time of day and season. Koh Aung and Talabeng Island are also good for spotting birds.
What's included in lunch, and where do we eat?
Lunch is at a local mangrove restaurant and includes a meal with fresh fruit and drinks. The restaurant sits in or near the mangrove forest, so you're eating in the same environment you'll paddle through afterward.
Is there a language barrier with the guide?
The guide speaks English, so instructions, information about the sites, and safety briefings are in English throughout the day.
