The experience
You start with hotel pickup and head straight to the mangrove village pier, where a long-tail boat waits. The boat carries you through the mangrove forest first: a chance to spot birds, fish and hermit crabs before the day's main events. This opening stretch settles the pace: unhurried, with a guide who knows what to look for.
The boat then takes you to Phee Island, also called Ghost Cave for the way its cliff face resembles a ghost ship. Here you have a choice: climb the steep rubber-ring route up about 3 meters to enter the cave and photograph the colorful stalactites and stalagmites inside, or stay below and wait. The climb is optional and guided. The cave itself is the draw. After Phee Island, the boat heads to Talabeng Island, where the kayaking begins. You paddle into a hidden sea cave, surrounded by the same formations, then float in crystal-clear water and swim on the sandy beach. The pace here is yours: paddle, rest, swim, photograph.
At the end of the afternoon, the boat returns to Tung Yee Peng Pier, where lunch and soft drinks wait at Mangrove seafood restaurant before your transfer back to the hotel. Life jackets and insurance are provided throughout.
