The experience
The day starts with pickup from your resort and a walk across the concrete bridge into the mangrove forest, where you'll spot crabs and fish in the shallows. From Tung Yee Peng Pier, a long-tail boat carries you to Koh Aung, a small island in the middle of the sea built for photographs, then to Koh Phee (also called Skull Cave or Ghost Island), where stalactites and stalagmites fill the interior. You can climb up and explore the cave safely, or stay aboard if climbing isn't for you. Either way, the boat circles for photos while you wait.
Lunch comes at a mangrove seafood restaurant with fresh fruit and soft drinks. After eating, the boat takes you to Koh Talabeng, where the kayaking begins. You paddle around the island's perimeter, then into its sea caves: the main draw of the half-day. Between paddles, you swim and relax on the beach. The pace is built around the kayak time at Talabeng. The islands before it are boat-based sightseeing, so if you want to spend most of the four hours in the water, this is where that happens.
A local guide leads the whole trip in English and handles the logistics: boat boarding, cave navigation, the route between islands. Life jackets are provided. The tour ends back at Tung Yee Peng and your hotel transfer.

Is this one for you?Four hours is short enough to fit before or after other plans in your day on Ko Lanta, but long enough to spend real time kayaking in the sea caves at Talabeng rather than just passing through. The boat rides between islands mean less paddling than a full-day kayak tour, so this suits someone who wants cave exploration and island stops without committing the whole day to the water.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 10 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What is Koh Talabeng like when you get there to kayak?
Koh Talabeng is full of stalactites, stalagmites and sea caves carved into the rock. You kayak around the island's edge and paddle into the caves themselves, then swim and rest on the beach. It's the main kayaking stop of the half-day.
How much time do you actually spend kayaking versus on the boat?
The first part of the tour (mangrove forest, Koh Aung and Koh Phee) happens by long-tail boat. Kayaking happens at Koh Talabeng in the second half, with time to paddle around the island, enter the sea caves and swim on the beach.
What happens if I don't want to climb into Skull Cave at Koh Phee?
Climbing the cave is optional. If you prefer not to, you stay aboard the long-tail boat while it circles the island, and you can take photos from the water while others explore inside.
Is the mangrove forest part of the kayaking, or just a walk?
The mangrove forest is a walk across a concrete bridge from your starting point at Tung Yee Peng Pier. You spot crabs and fish in the water below, but you don't kayak through it. The kayaking is reserved for Koh Talabeng later in the tour.
