- Lunch and relax at Ko Ngai
- Snorkel at Ko Maa
- Return to Lanta Old Town

The experience
Ko Mook's Emerald Cave is the centerpiece: you wade through a sea tunnel carved into the limestone and emerge into a hidden lagoon surrounded by sheer cliffs. The cave itself takes about 20 minutes to navigate, and the lagoon inside is where you float and look up at the rock walls. Before and after, you snorkel at Ko Cheuek and Ko Maa, where the reefs hold different fish and coral. The longtail boat (a wooden hull with an exposed engine) moves slower than speedboats, which is why the operator chose it: less wake, less noise, a steadier platform for getting in and out of the water.
The day runs on a fixed schedule. You leave Lanta Old Town at 9am, reach Ko Cheuek by 9:45am for the first snorkel, then Ko Mook at 11am for the cave. Lunch happens at Ko Ngai from noon to 1:30pm. A Thai buffet served on the beach, with time to walk around or rest. Ko Maa, the final snorkel stop, comes at 1:45pm. The boat heads back at 2:30pm and arrives at the pier between 3:30 and 4pm. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange transport to the pier.
Snorkeling gear, life jackets and drinks come with the booking. A live guide speaks English and Thai. Children from age 1 are welcome. If your child is 4 to 11, the national park charges an additional 100 THB per child, and adults pay a separate park fee as well: both collected on the day. The boat carries small groups, and because it departs from Lanta Old Town rather than a busier hub, the crowds are thinner than on tours from larger resorts.

Is this one for you?The fixed 9am departure and the longtail boat's slower pace suit travelers who want a guided route with set stops and don't want to navigate between islands on their own. If you prefer to snorkel at your own pace or skip the Emerald Cave, a private boat rental or a different tour may fit better.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Thai.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years); Infant (1 to 3 years): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Emerald Cave at Ko Mook like when you get there?
Ko Mook's Emerald Cave is a hidden lagoon inside the island, reached by wading through a sea tunnel carved into the rock. The tunnel is shallow and takes about 20 minutes to walk through. Once inside, you float in the lagoon and look up at the limestone cliffs that surround it. The cave is the highlight of the day and the reason most travelers book this tour.
How much time do you actually spend snorkeling at each stop?
Ko Cheuek gets roughly 45 minutes for snorkeling before the boat moves to Ko Mook. After the Emerald Cave, you don't snorkel at Ko Mook itself. Ko Ngai is lunch and rest, not snorkeling. Ko Maa, the final stop, gives you another snorkel session of similar length before the return journey.
Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear or is it provided?
Snorkeling equipment is included with the tour. Masks, fins and snorkels are supplied. You just need to bring a swimsuit and a towel.
What happens if I'm not a confident swimmer or have never snorkeled before?
The tour is suitable for all fitness levels and children from age 1 are welcome. A life jacket is provided, and the guide is there throughout. If you're nervous, let the guide know when you board. They can offer tips and stay close by.
Is the longtail boat ride rough, or is it a smooth journey between islands?
The longtail boat is slower and more stable than speedboats, which is why the operator uses it. The journey to Ko Cheuek takes about 45 minutes. The hops between islands are shorter. The ride is not rough, though you will feel the engine and the motion of the water.
