Step-by-step itinerary

Snorkeling and beach relaxation

  • Snorkel at Koh Rok coral reefs
  • Enjoy Thai buffet lunch on beach
  • Relax, sunbathe, or swim on white sand
  • Snorkel in Koh Haa Lagoon

The experience

Koh Rok's underwater world comes in two snorkeling sessions bookended by lunch and beach time. The speedboat ride gets you there in the morning, and you spend the first half of the day exploring the coral reefs and tropical fish: clownfish tucked in anemones, parrotfish flashing color, angel fish moving through the gardens. After a Thai buffet lunch and a break on the white sand, you head to Koh Haa Lagoon, where dramatic limestone cliffs frame turquoise water and another set of coral gardens. The second snorkeling session here is where the water runs clearest. Sea turtles show up sometimes. Between the two sites and the lunch break, you get real downtime to swim, sunbathe or just sit still.

The boat carries a small group, and everyone gets snorkeling gear, a safety vest, and an English-speaking guide who knows the reefs. Drinking water and seasonal fruit come with you, and a first aid kit is on board. Hotel pickup and drop-off from Koh Lanta are included, so you don't arrange transport yourself. The whole day runs six to seven hours from start to finish. Weather and tide can shift the exact timing or which sites you hit, so the operator may adjust the plan on the morning of the tour.
