The experience

The tour runs 7 to 8 hours aboard a Gozzo Sorrentino, a traditional wooden boat built for the Amalfi Coast. You'll start with a slow cruise along the Mediterranean, then swim and snorkel around the Galli Islands: a protected marine area of three islands between Capri and Positano, historically called Le Sireneuse after the sirens of legend. The water here is deep and clear, and the boat carries all the snorkeling gear you need.

After the islands, you'll cruise to Positano to walk its steep cobblestone streets, colorful buildings and boutique-lined harbor. The boat then takes you to lunch at one of the private trattorias tucked into the coves along the coast. These restaurants sit right on the water and are reachable only by sea. On the return in the afternoon, you'll make another stop for a swim, often at spots like the Emerald Grotto in Conca dei Marini or the Fiordo di Furore, depending on the day's conditions and your group's pace.

Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian or French and stays with the group throughout. The boat carries bottled water, soft drinks, wine, beer and prosecco, plus snacks.
