The experience
The tour leaves Amalfi and hugs the coast toward Capri, passing through the marine protected area of Punta Campanella where the seabed and cliffs stay wild. Along the way you'll see old defensive towers, villas and hidden beaches before reaching Capri's main attractions. The boat is a new gozzo, 26 feet long, built in 2023 or 2025, with a canopy for shade and a separate toilet onboard.
Once at Capri, the route moves through the island's signature sights: the White Grotto, where pure white limestone walls frame crystal-clear water and sunlight filters through the rocks; the Natural Arch, a collapsed grotto from the Paleolithic age on the east coast; and the four Faraglioni rocks (Saetta, Monacone, Stella and Scopolo), which inspire the legends and art Capri is known for. You'll stop to photograph them and swim if you want. Next comes the Green Grotto, formerly the Cave of the Turks, where emerald-colored water and stalactites create an otherworldly atmosphere. A swim here reveals the full effect. The boat then anchors at Marina Piccola, Capri's most exclusive waterfront, where you have three hours free to have lunch at a typical restaurant, explore the town inland or simply rest.
On the return journey to Amalfi, the boat stops at Li Galli, the three-island archipelago off Positano known as the Mermaid's Islands. The main island is shaped like a dolphin, and the crystalline emerald water around them is ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The tour ends with a glass of cold prosecco as you cruise back to port. The Blue Grotto is available on request but requires purchasing an entry ticket on-site. Access is not guaranteed during rough seas, strong winds or when boat queues exceed one hour.
