The experience
The AQA38 is a 13-meter yacht built for small groups, which means you steer the day. You pick which stops matter most: the dramatic Faraglioni rock formations that rise from the sea off Capri's coast, the Blue Grotto with its entrance so low you recline in a rowboat to pass through, the Green Grotto where light bounces off the seabed and turns the water emerald, or the White Grotto accessed by a steep staircase carved into the rock. Positano and Amalfi are on the route. The Fjord of Furore and the Li Galli islets (three privately owned islands visible from the water but inaccessible except to invited guests) add texture to the coastline between them.
Swimming and snorkeling happen at stops you choose. The boat carries snorkeling gear, so you can go under if the water calls. If not, you stroll the town or sit with the view. Bottled water, soda, coffee, tea, snacks and alcoholic beverages are aboard. The tour runs seven hours from pickup to return, and the only additional cost is a port fee when you arrive at Marina Grande in Capri.

Top questions
What is the Blue Grotto actually like when you get there?
The Blue Grotto is a natural cavern 25 meters wide and 60 meters long with a tiny entrance less than a meter high. You lay back in a wooden rowboat and glide through the low cave mouth to enter. The water inside glows from light reflecting off the seabed and limestone walls.
Can I swim during the tour, or is it just sightseeing from the boat?
You stop at locations of your choice to swim and snorkel. Snorkeling equipment is provided, and you decide which spots work for you: some travelers skip the water entirely and spend the time walking around Positano or Amalfi instead.
What are the Faraglioni and why do people photograph them?
The Faraglioni are three towering rock formations that jut out from the Mediterranean just off Capri's coast. They're the island's most iconic sight and frame the Marina Piccola bay, which is also a swimming spot on the tour.
Is this tour private, or will I be sharing the boat with other groups?
The AQA38 is a private yacht, so your group books the entire boat. You customize the stops and the pace without coordinating around other travelers.
What's included in the price, and what costs extra?
Pickup, snorkeling gear, bottled water, coffee, tea, snacks and alcoholic beverages are included. A port fee applies when the boat arrives at Marina Grande in Capri. This is the main harbor where all ferries and private boats dock.
