The experience

The boat leaves from the Amalfi Coast and heads straight to Capri's quieter side. Your skipper (a local who knows the island's history and hidden corners) navigates you past the White Grotto first, where a natural limestone formation inside the cave resembles the Virgin Mary. Then you sail to the Faraglioni Rocks, three towering sea stacks that rise from the water. The boat glides through the arch of Faraglione di Mezzo, where legend says a kiss brings eternal love. The modern boat has a shower, bathroom, stereo and all the gear you need, so the day feels unhurried even as you cover the island's most famous sights.

Marina Piccola is where the pace becomes yours. This bay, once a retreat for Emperor Augustus, sits framed by cliffs and villas. You can snorkel in the turquoise water, swim off the boat, or stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Punta Carena, home to Italy's second-brightest lighthouse built in 1867, is another optional stop if you want more time in the water or just want to see the southwestern cliffs. The Blue Grotto (Capri's most famous sea cave, lit by an ethereal blue glow) is optional because it requires a transfer to a smaller boat through a narrow entrance, but your skipper can arrange it if you choose.

Seven hours gives you time to move between stops without rushing and to spend real time snorkeling or swimming. Snorkeling equipment, Prosecco, Italian beer, bottled water, soft drinks and light snacks like tarallini and nuts are included. Pickup from your Amalfi Coast location is part of the booking, so you don't arrange transport separately.

Top questions

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What is the White Grotto and why is it worth seeing on a Capri boat tour?

The White Grotto is a sea cave on Capri's coast with dazzling limestone formations and shimmering waters. Inside, a natural stalagmite formation resembles the Virgin Mary, making it a unique and visually striking stop that most boat tours skip in favor of the more famous Blue Grotto.

Can I swim and snorkel during the tour, or is it mostly sailing past sights?

You can swim and snorkel throughout the day. Marina Piccola is the main stop for time in the water, and snorkeling gear is provided. Punta Carena and other stops also offer optional swimming, so the tour is as active in the water as you want it to be.

What happens at the Faraglioni Rocks, and can the boat go through the arch?

The Faraglioni are three sea stacks rising from the water off Capri's coast. The boat sails through the arch of Faraglione di Mezzo, the middle stack, giving you views from the water and the chance to photograph this iconic landmark up close.

Is the Blue Grotto included, or do I have to pay extra to visit it?

The Blue Grotto is optional. Visiting it requires a transfer to a smaller boat to pass through a narrow entrance, which your skipper can arrange if you want to go. It is not automatically included in the route, so you decide whether to add it when you book or on the day.

What's included in the drinks and snacks on the boat?

Prosecco, Italian beer, bottled water, Coca-Cola and lemon soda are included, along with light snacks like potato chips, tarallini and nuts. If you want lunch at Marina Piccola, that's a separate cost at a local restaurant.

How long is the tour, and what time does it start?

The tour runs for seven hours. Your skipper will confirm the exact departure time when you book, based on your location on the Amalfi Coast and the day you choose.
