The experience
The tour runs seven hours from your choice of departure point along the Amalfi Coast or from Sorrento and Capri itself. A private boat means no crowded group schedule. You set the pace and the guide adjusts the route to conditions and your interests. The boat picks you up from your selected town, and from there the day centers on three things: the Faraglioni, a trio of dramatic limestone stacks rising from the sea where you'll swim and hear the legend behind them; the Green Grotto, a sea cave filled with water so vivid it lives up to its name; and the Blue Grotto, where a smaller rowboat takes you into a chamber lit by refracted light off the water. Not every tour includes the Blue Grotto. It's an option you choose at checkout, and there's a separate landing fee if you decide to enter.
Snorkelling equipment is on board and ready to use at any of the swimming stops. The boat carries soft drinks, fresh fruit and snacks, and there's a restroom on board for the full day. A guide travels with you and narrates in your chosen language, pointing out the geology, the history and the stories that have drawn writers and poets to Capri for centuries. Infants can travel in a pram or stroller, and the tour suits all fitness levels. You're on the boat most of the day, and swimming is optional.

Is this one for you?Choose your departure town based on where you're staying on the Amalfi Coast or in Sorrento. The boat collects you from there, so there's no extra transfer to arrange. If the Blue Grotto is on your must-see list, add it at checkout. Without it, the Green Grotto and the Faraglioni fill the day completely.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, French, German and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What exactly are the Faraglioni and why do people swim there?
The Faraglioni are three massive rock formations jutting from the sea off Capri's coast, famous enough to be a symbol of the island itself. You'll swim at their base during the tour, and your guide will share the legend and geology of these volcanic stacks while you're in the water.
Can I visit the Blue Grotto on this tour, or is it a separate booking?
The Blue Grotto is an optional add-on you choose when you book. If you select it, there's a landing fee of 100 euros per group, and a small rowboat will take you into the cave from the main boat. Without it, you'll still visit the Green Grotto and swim at the Faraglioni.
Which departure town is closest to where I'm staying?
You can depart from Cetara, Maiori, Praiano, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Salerno or Capri itself. Pick the town nearest your accommodation when you book, and the boat will collect you from there.
Do I need to bring my own snorkelling gear?
No. Snorkelling equipment is provided on board and included in the price. Bring a swimsuit and a towel. Everything else is ready when you arrive.
