The experience

The boat leaves from an agreed pickup point and sails east along the coast, passing Vietri sul Mare, Cetara with its Viceregal tower, and the village of Erchie before reaching Maiori and Minori: both with calm waters if you want to swim. The journey is built around choice: at each stop, you decide whether to wade in, step ashore to walk the town, or stay on deck with a drink and the view. Lunch happens in Amalfi, where you can either explore the city itself or eat at one of the exclusive restaurants at Capo Conca while the boat rocks gently beneath you.

After Amalfi, the route passes Conca dei Marini and the Emerald Grotto, a sea cave you can photograph or skip depending on the light and your mood. Furore Fjord comes next (a narrow inlet carved into the cliff), then Praiano with its Gavitella beach and views of the Li Galli islands. Positano, famous for its vertical shops and pastel buildings, is another optional stop. The day ends at Capri, where you can visit the island's squares and cafés or simply turn back toward the mainland. Snorkeling equipment is on board if available, and a skipper handles the boat while you handle the itinerary.

The actual sailing time is about two hours and twenty minutes. The rest of the four to eight hours depends on where you linger. Fuel is included in the price. A welcome aperitif with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks arrives early, so you start the day fed and settled. Infants sit on an adult's lap, and the pace suits all fitness levels since you're mostly on a boat deciding when to move.
