The experience
The route runs the length of the coast in a single arc, so you see the full sweep without backtracking. You'll sail past Vietri sul Mare and Cetara (where the Viceregal tower marks the old marina), then move into the swimming stops. Maiori and Minori both offer clear water if you want to jump in. The crew has snorkeling equipment ready. The boat holds station long enough for a real swim, not a token dip.
Amalfi arrives around lunchtime, and here the day splits. You can go ashore and walk the town, eat at a restaurant on your own, or stay aboard while the skipper takes you to exclusive spots around Capo Conca or anchors in quiet water so you can sunbathe and swim from the boat. Either way, you're not rushed. After lunch, the route continues east toward Positano, passing Conca dei Marini (where the Emerald Grotto sits in the cliff face and you can stop to photograph it), and the Furore Fjord, a narrow cut in the rock that opens to the sea. Praiano comes next, with views of Gavitella beach and the Li Galli islands offshore. Positano is the final stop. Again, you choose whether to go ashore or relax on the water.
The boat size matters for comfort and access. Larger vessels (the 7.8-meter or 6.2-meter options) move steadier in chop and have more deck space. Smaller ones (5.7 to 6 meters) fit into tighter anchorages and feel more intimate. All carry the same crew, snacks, drinks and snorkeling kit. Fuel is included, though a surcharge may apply if you're picked up in Positano. The skipper speaks English or Italian and will work with your pace. If you want longer at one stop or to skip another, say so.
What’s included
- Skipper and crew.
- snacks and a small non-alcoholic aperitif.
- snorkeling equipment if available.
- fuel.
- all five boat sizes carry the same inclusions, so your choice is based on vessel size and comfort, not what's on board.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.
Can I swim during the Amalfi Coast boat tour?
Yes. Stops at Maiori, Minori and Praiano are swimming stops, and you can jump in from the boat at any of them. Snorkeling equipment is provided if available, and the crew will stay anchored long enough for a real swim, not a quick dip.
What happens when the boat reaches Amalfi at lunchtime?
You have a choice. Go ashore to explore the town and eat at a restaurant, stay on the boat while the skipper takes you to quieter anchorages near Capo Conca, or eat at an exclusive restaurant the crew can arrange. The boat waits. There's no fixed schedule to rush you.
What's the Emerald Grotto and can we stop there?
The Emerald Grotto is a sea cave carved into the cliff at Conca dei Marini, famous for the green light the water reflects inside. The boat can stop so you can photograph it or swim near the entrance, but entry into the cave itself is not part of this tour.
How do I choose which boat size to book?
Five sizes are available at checkout, ranging from 5.7 to 7.8 meters. Larger boats ride steadier and have more deck space. Smaller ones anchor in tighter spots and feel more personal. All include the same crew, snacks, drinks and snorkeling gear, so pick based on how many people are in your group and whether you prefer a bigger or smaller vessel.
How much of the day is actually spent traveling versus at stops?
About 2 hours and 20 minutes is spent under way between stops. The rest of the 4 to 8 hour day depends on how long you stay at each location. You control that. If you swim at every stop and spend time in Amalfi and Positano, you'll use the full span. If you skip ashore visits, the day runs shorter.
Is snorkeling equipment included?
Yes, snorkeling gear is included if available. The crew will have it ready at the swimming stops, and you can use it at Maiori, Minori, Praiano or anywhere else the boat anchors.
