The experience

The boat leaves from whichever town you choose (Amalfi or Positano), and spends the morning cruising the coastline, stopping twice to get in the water. The first swim is usually at Conca dei Marini, a fishing village wedged between limestone cliffs where the water stays clear even close to shore. The second is at Praiano, a few kilometers down the coast. Between swims the boat passes the Furore Fjord, a narrow canyon carved into the rock where a bridge spans the opening high above the water, and Atrani, the smallest town in Italy, its bell tower rising from a cluster of pastel houses. You're in the water for as long as you want at each stop. There's no schedule pushing you out.

Around midday the boat heads to whichever town you didn't depart from. If you left Amalfi, you dock in Positano. If you left Positano, you arrive in Amalfi. You get roughly 90 minutes to walk the streets, eat lunch at a waterfront restaurant, or sit on the beach. The boat waits. A dedicated water taxi handles the landing in Positano (€5 per person, paid on the day) so you don't lose time wading through the shallows with your bags.

Prosecco, limoncello, beer and soft drinks stay cold on board. Snacks come out between swims. The snorkeling equipment is provided, and towels too. The captain monitors the sea and can change the route if conditions shift, though the boat only refunds if the captain deems the weather unsafe before departure. Most of the group will be other travelers on the same tour: the boat caps at ten people, which means you're not jostling for space in the water or fighting for a spot on deck.

Yes. The equipment is included, but if you have your own mask and fins and prefer them, bring them along.

What happens if the weather is bad?

The captain decides each morning whether conditions are safe. If they're not, the tour is rescheduled or fully refunded. If the captain says it's safe to go, the tour runs as scheduled and is non-refundable, even if the weather turns rougher than expected.
