- Swim at Conca dei Marini Bay

The experience
What makes this different from a boat ride is that you're in the water for most of it. The boat takes you to four separate spots where you stop to swim and snorkel, starting at Santa Croce beach and the Natural Arch: locals call it the Lovers' Arch. From there you cruise past Conca dei Marini, where a Saracen castle sits on the rocks and you can jump in again if you want. The guide speaks English or Italian, so you follow along as the boat moves between sites.
The route passes through Praiano, a fishing village that's been filmed for movies, and ends with a swim at La Porta beach in Positano, the colorful town built into the cliffs. On the way back, you see the villas carved into the rock face, old defense towers, and the Furore Fjord, which is famous enough to host world diving competitions. The whole thing takes three hours, and you get snorkeling equipment, a towel and a soft drink included.

What's the Lovers' Arch and where is it on this snorkeling route?
The Natural Arch near Santa Croce beach is the first stop on the route, and the boat passes directly through it at the start of the activity. It's a rock formation in the water that's become a local landmark.
Can I swim at every stop, or just snorkel?
You can swim at each of the four stops: Santa Croce, Conca dei Marini, and La Porta beach in Positano all have swimming breaks built into the route. Snorkeling equipment is provided, so you can use it whenever you want to go underwater.
How long does the boat spend at each location?
The itinerary includes multiple swimming breaks at each site, though the exact time at each stop isn't fixed: the guide adjusts based on conditions and how long swimmers want to stay in the water.
Is this snorkeling activity suitable for someone who's never snorkeled before?
Yes, it's suitable for all physical fitness levels. The guide provides snorkeling equipment and is there to help, and you can swim without snorkeling if you prefer. Infants can come along if they sit on an adult's lap.
