The experience
The taxi pulls up to Jeongbang Waterfall first, where water cascades 23 meters down a cliff face and into the sea: a sight unique to Asia. You can wade into the shallows at the base and feel the spray. The rocks underfoot are slick, so the driver will point out the safest footing. The waterfall sits on the south coast, and on clear days rainbows form in the mist. The rock wall behind it carries Chinese characters carved centuries ago, part of a legend about an emperor's envoy searching for an elixir of immortality on Hallasan Mountain.
From there the route moves to Yongmeori Coast, where lava that flowed into the sea millions of years ago hardened into 30- to 50-meter cliffs shaped like a dragon's head. The name means "dragon head beach." The columnar joints (hexagonal stone pillars stacked like a folding screen) show how rapidly cooling lava contracts and fractures. Waves carve hollow chambers into the sandstone, and in rough seas the spray shoots 20 meters into the air. You walk along the cliff edge and may encounter haenyeo (traditional women divers) working the rocks, a chance to see a practice that has sustained Jeju families for generations.
The O'Sulloc Tea Museum sits in the middle of a green tea field where you can rest and photograph yourself among the rows of tea plants. The museum opened in 2001 and holds domestic and foreign tea artifacts. Inside, you can learn about Korean tea culture and sip a cup while looking out at the plantation. Lunch is your choice. The driver will recommend restaurants within a 5km radius and adjust the route to fit where you want to eat. The day ends on the Sinchang Coastal Road as the sun sets over the water, a quiet stretch to wind down before the driver returns you to your starting point.

Can I customize which attractions we visit on the Jeju taxi tour?
Yes. You meet with the driver about 10 minutes before departure to confirm the tour route, and adjustments can be made once everyone in the group shares their preferences. The core stops (Jeongbang Waterfall, Yongmeori Coast, O'Sulloc Tea Museum and the Sinchang Coastal Road) form the standard itinerary, but you can add or exclude attractions depending on your interests.
What is Jeongbang Waterfall actually like to visit?
Jeongbang Waterfall is the only waterfall in Asia that falls directly into the sea. You can wade into the shallow water at the base and feel the spray. The rocks are slick, so careful footing matters. The cliff face behind it carries ancient Chinese characters carved into the stone, and on clear days rainbows form in the mist.
What happens at Yongmeori Coast?
Yongmeori Coast is a lava formation shaped like a dragon's head, with 30- to 50-meter cliffs carved by waves over millions of years. You walk along the rocks and may encounter haenyeo (traditional women divers) working the area. In rough seas, waves crash against the columnar joints and spray shoots 20 meters high.
How does lunch work on this tour?
Lunch is arranged with you. The driver will recommend restaurants and menus based on your preferences. You typically eat at a restaurant within 5km of O'Sulloc Tea Museum, and the route adjusts to fit your choice.
Is the O'Sulloc Tea Museum just a shop, or is there more to see?
O'Sulloc Tea Museum is a cultural space that opened in 2001 and holds tea-related artifacts from Korea and abroad. You can walk through the green tea fields surrounding it, take photographs, and sip tea while looking out at the plantation: a quiet break in the middle of the day.
