Step-by-step itinerary

Jeju nature and tangerine picking tour

  • Visit O'Sulloc Tea Museum
  • Explore Cheonjeyeon Waterfall and Seonimgyo Bridge
  • Pick and taste tangerines at orchard
  • Visit Camellia Hill garden

The experience

Eight to nine hours covers four stops built around Jeju's seasonal rhythms. You start at O'Sulloc Tea Museum, a building shaped like a green tea cup, where you learn about Korea's traditional tea culture and look out from the observatory across rolling tea fields. From there, the route moves to Cheonjeyeon Waterfall in Seogwipo, a site known as the "Pond of the Gods" where legend says seven heavenly maidens bathed in the clear water. You walk through a lush volcanic valley, see the emerald pool at the base of the falls, and cross Seonimgyo Bridge, carved with images of those maidens.

The centerpiece is tangerine picking at a local orchard. You rent a basket and scissors, harvest your own fruit (the size is large enough to pick leisurely) taste the tangerines as you work, and take home 1 kilogram. The farm has decorated photo zones throughout the rows, so you leave with pictures as well as the harvest. The experience changes with the season. If you want to make tangerine syrup or work with green tangerines, those require advance notice when you book.

The tour ends at Camellia Hill, an arboretum that has been tending Jeju's landscape for thirty years. It holds more than 650 varieties of camellia flowers blooming at different times, plus 250 other native Jeju plants, so the grounds shift with the season. Winter brings the vibrant red blossoms the tour is named for. A guide in English, Chinese or Japanese travels with you the whole day. Hotel pickup and drop-off across Jeju Island are included, along with all entry fees and parking.
