The experience
You're picked up from your hotel or airport and driven to Cheonjeyeon Falls, a three-tiered waterfall in the Jungmun Tourist Complex where the Jungmuncheon Stream flows from Mount Halla toward the sea. The first waterfall drops 22 meters into a pond 21 meters deep. The columnar-jointed rock wall and emerald water are worth photographing even when the waterfall runs low in dry season. From there, a forest path follows the water downhill to the second waterfall, and a fairy bridge connects it to the third tier, opening views across the valley and toward Hallasan Mountain. The site carries a legend of a fairy who bathed in these waters.
After the waterfall, the tour moves to O'Sulloc Tea Museum, opened in 2001 as a space for learning about green tea and Korean tea culture. You walk through the green tea fields (a chance to touch the leaves and take pictures), then sit down for a cup of green tea and green tea ice cream. The museum holds domestic and foreign tea-related items and serves as a quiet place to step back from the pace of the city. Shopping for tea-based cosmetics is available on-site.
The driver returns you to your hotel or the point where you started in the morning. All parking, fuel, entry fees and transport are included. The vehicle is air-conditioned and registered with the South Korean taxi authority, carrying full transportation insurance. The driver speaks basic English and has experience guiding international visitors.
