The experience
This is a fully private tour, only your group travels, built around Eastern Jeju's most significant sites. You start at your hotel or preferred location in downtown Jeju City and move through the day at your own pace, with your guide handling all driving and navigation. The core stops are Hamdeok or Woljeongri Beach for calm waters and white sand; the Haenyeo Museum, where you learn the history of UNESCO-recognized sea divers who harvest seafood without oxygen tanks; Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak), a tuff cone you hike for panoramic coastal views; a live Haenyeo performance showing traditional songs and diving skills; and Seongeup Folk Village, a living museum of thatched-roof houses and ancient volcanic stone walls. The 8-hour version covers these five stops. The 10-hour option adds either Jeju K-Show or Jeju Stone Culture Park, giving you more depth in one direction.
What sets this tour apart is the guide choice. The Budget Korean Driver communicates via real-time translation apps: best if you have a clear itinerary in mind and prefer independence. The Local English-Speaking Guide offers comfortable conversation and practical site information in intermediate English. The Professional English Guide delivers fluent English and expert context on Jeju's history, culture and hidden corners. All three options include the same vehicle, fuel, parking, and free pickup and drop-off within downtown Jeju City. Your guide can also suggest seasonal photo spots along the way (canola and cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangeas and silver grass in summer and autumn, camellias in winter), but these are entirely optional and may carry small entrance fees. A 40–60 minute lunch break is built into the day at authentic local restaurants (meals at your own expense). You choose the timing and pace.
Group size ranges from 1 to 15 people depending on the option you select, and the vehicle scales accordingly: regular taxi for small groups, larger cars or minivans for bigger parties. Infants under 2 ride free but must be counted in your passenger total. Foldable wheelchairs and walkers fit in the trunk, though some sites have stairs or uneven terrain. The tour requires good weather. If it's canceled, you'll be offered a different date or a full refund. Admission fees to museums and attractions (5–28 USD total) are paid separately at each site, and gratuities are at your discretion.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Korean.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Infant (under 3): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What exactly is the Haenyeo Museum and what will I learn there?
The Haenyeo Museum tells the story of Jeju's sea women: UNESCO-recognized divers who harvest seafood without oxygen tanks, a practice unique to this island and passed down through generations. The museum documents their history, techniques, and cultural significance. It's closed Mondays. If that's your travel day, your guide will substitute a visit to Jeju Stone Park, Jeju K-Show, or Saryeoni Forest Path instead.
Can I skip stops or change the order of the itinerary?
Yes, this is a private tour at your own pace. You can adjust the stops, timing and order with your guide on the day. The itinerary is flexible. Your guide will work around your preferences and any sites you want to linger at or skip entirely.
What's included in the price, and what costs extra?
The price covers your private vehicle, fuel, parking, pickup and drop-off within downtown Jeju City, and your guide's time for the full 8 or 10 hours. Admission to museums and attractions (Haenyeo Museum, Seongsan Ilchulbong, Jeju Stone Park, Jeju K-Show) runs 5–28 USD total and is paid separately at each site. Lunch is at your own expense at local restaurants your guide recommends. Gratuities are optional.
What if I need pickup outside downtown Jeju City, like from the airport?
Pickup and drop-off are free within downtown Jeju City (hotels, the airport, etc.). If you need service outside that zone, an additional fee applies: 30 USD for a regular car or 50 USD for a van or minibus.
Do the seasonal photo spots cost extra, and are they worth the detour?
Seasonal recommendations (canola fields, hydrangeas, silver grass, camellias) are completely optional and suggested by your guide only if you're interested. Small entrance or activity fees may apply at these locations, but you can skip them entirely to spend more time at the main attractions. Your guide will let you know the cost and time commitment before suggesting a stop.
