The experience
You board a private boat crewed by experienced sailors who know the coast. The tour runs seven hours, but the route is yours to shape: you can anchor at Amalfi town itself, the oldest of the Maritime Republics and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997; detour to Positano, a former trading centre carved into cliffs; slip into the Emerald Grotto, where seawater fills a 30-meter karst cavity and casts green light across the stone; or head out to Li Galli, the three islets off Positano where legend says sirens tried to lure Ulysses. If you book the Capri option, the boat carries you to the island instead, known for its mild climate and the writers and artists who abandoned other lives for it.
Other stops dot the route depending on what you want: Praiano, an ancient fishing village with narrow streets lined with shops and studios; Nerano on the Sorrento peninsula, where Marina del Cantone beach draws swimmers to its gravel sand and clear water; and Furore, famous for a 30-meter suspension bridge that hosts an annual diving championship. You sit back and soak in the sun between stops, or swim in the coves. The crew brings light refreshments, bottled water, snacks and your choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day.
Because you design the itinerary, the boat moves at your rhythm: no fixed schedule forcing you past a site you want to linger at, no rushing to catch a group departure. The crew speaks English and Italian, and they know the waters well enough to find the quieter anchorages and the best light for the grottoes. A valid passport must be with you on the day of travel.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I choose between the Amalfi Coast and Capri, or do I have to pick one before I book?
You choose one at checkout: either the Amalfi Coast tour or the Capri tour. Both run seven hours and include the same crew and refreshments, but the Capri option takes you to the island instead of the coves and towns along the coast.
What is the Emerald Grotto actually like when you get there?
The Emerald Grotto is a sea cave 30 meters high, partly flooded by seawater. Sunlight penetrates the rocks and casts green light on the walls, making it look like a cathedral carved from the waves. The boat can anchor nearby so you see it from the water.
What are Li Galli and why would I want to stop there?
Li Galli are three small islets off the coast near Positano. In Greek mythology, sirens lived there and tried to bewitch Ulysses. Today they're one of the most striking natural features on the Mediterranean, and a popular swimming and photo stop.
How much of the seven hours is actually spent traveling versus anchored at stops?
The breakdown depends on which stops you choose and how long you want to stay at each one. Because you customize the itinerary, you control the pace. You can spend more time swimming at one cove or move quickly between several towns.
Do I need to bring my own snacks and drinks, or are they provided?
Light refreshments, bottled water, snacks and beverages are included throughout the day. You can choose alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. Optional stops with local restaurants are accessible by boat along the way if you want a meal ashore.
