The experience
The boat leaves Amalfi port at 10 a.m. and follows the coast east toward Positano, passing through Praiano and the Fjord of Furore, a narrow inlet carved into the cliffs where the water sits still and deep. At Conca de' Marini you can stop for lunch at a seaside restaurant (optional, at extra cost) or simply walk the waterfront. At Positano, the boat holds while you explore the village on foot. The skipper knows the three best swimming spots (Pandora Cave tucked into the rock face, Marmorata Waterfall where fresh water meets the sea, and Dead Horse Bay), and stops long enough at each one for a proper swim and snorkel.
Because it is a private tour, you set the rhythm. If one village calls for an extra hour, the boat stays. If you want to skip a stop, you skip it. The skipper carries snorkelling equipment, beach towels, drinks (still water, sparkling water, beer, Prosecco, Limoncello, soft drinks) and snacks (fresh fruit, pizza, taralli and chips). Fuel is included in the price.
The return to Amalfi happens around 4 p.m., though the exact time shifts with your choices during the day. Small children can travel in a pram or stroller, and infants sit on an adult's lap.

Is this one for you?The six to seven hour window leaves room for an early breakfast or a late dinner ashore, but rules out a second major activity the same day. Book this if the boat and the coast are your day's main event.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What is the Fjord of Furore and why is it a stop on this tour?
The Fjord of Furore is a narrow sea inlet cut into the cliffs between Praiano and Positano, one of the few natural harbours on the Amalfi Coast. The boat stops there for swimming and to let you take in the steep rock walls and the quiet water.
Can I get off the boat to explore Positano and Conca de' Marini on foot?
Yes. At both Positano and Conca de' Marini the boat stops and you can go ashore to walk the village, visit shops or eat at a restaurant. The skipper waits for you to return.
What swimming spots are included, and do I need my own snorkel gear?
Three stops are set aside for swimming: Pandora Cave, Marmorata Waterfall and Dead Horse Bay. Snorkelling equipment is provided, so you do not need to bring your own.
Is lunch included in the price?
Drinks and snacks are included. Lunch at a restaurant in Conca de' Marini is optional and costs extra. You can also bring your own food or skip it.
How does a private tour differ from a shared one on this coast?
On a private tour, you and your group have the boat to yourselves and the skipper adjusts stops and timing to your preferences. You decide how long to stay at each place instead of following a fixed schedule.
