Boat tour along Amalfi Coast

  • Depart from Salerno cruise terminal
  • Sail along Amalfi Coast
  • Swim in Amalfi waters
  • Visit Amalfi village freely
  • Optional lunch at seaside restaurant
  • Return to Salerno cruise terminal

The experience

The boat departs from Salerno cruise terminal at 09:00 and returns at 16:00, timed to fit the main cruise ship schedules. You board a few steps from the terminal, so there's no transport to arrange or extra walking with luggage. The skipper speaks English or Italian and navigates the route at a pace that lets you take in the coastline: Vietri sul Mare's colorful dome, Cetara's fishing boats, the stacked villages of Maiori and Minori rising from the water, and Atrani tucked into its cove. Positano is not on this itinerary, so the route stays focused on the stops that fit a single day from Salerno.

Swimming breaks are built into the route, and you get a beach towel, floats and diving masks. The boat anchors in clear water where you can cool off, and near Amalfi you can swim at Santa Croce, one of the quieter stretches of the coast. Once you've swum, you can stay aboard to relax or go ashore to walk Amalfi's center (the cathedral, the narrow streets, the waterfront), at your own pace. A typical seaside restaurant accessible only by boat is available if you want lunch. You arrange and pay for it separately, but the boat can take you there and pick you up after.

Aperitifs, sparkling wine, beer and water come aboard, along with snacks. Insurance and fuel are included in the price. Groups stay under 12 people, so the boat doesn't feel crowded, and a skipper who knows the water handles all the navigation.
