Dive into crystal waters with snacks, drinks, and stops at hidden seaside spots

A private boat excursion along the Amalfi Coast departing from Salerno (or another village of your choice) gives you exclusive use of the vessel from roughly 10:00 to 17:00, with stops at Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori, Minori, Amalfi, Praiano and Positano. Snorkeling equipment, cold drinks, snacks and fuel are included; you set the pace and choose which villages to visit or skip, and can arrange lunch at a seaside restaurant on request.

The Experience

The boat leaves from Salerno or from whichever village suits your schedule — Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori, Minori, Amalfi, Praiano or Positano — and stays yours for the day. You control the itinerary: stop at Vietri to see the twin rock formations called the Two Brothers, or skip it and head straight to Cetara, where the old tuna traps (tonnare) still stand and small tuna sometimes dart past the hull. The coast unfolds in a sequence of stops you choose — Erchie with its Saracen-defense tower, the Marmorata waterfall where you can swim directly under the cascade, the Pandora Cave with its blue-green water, or the Santa Croce cove with its natural arch.

Snorkeling gear, masks and tubes are on board, along with cold drinks, ice and snacks. If you want to eat, the boat can anchor near one of the characteristic seaside restaurants clinging to the rocks, where local fishermen sell their catch daily. Praiano is one of the most photographed spots on the coast; Positano, at the southern end, rewards a longer stop with narrow alleys and shops tucked into the cliffside. The whole day runs roughly seven hours, though you set the times — earlier start, later finish, or a different window altogether if that suits your arrival or departure.

A guide speaks English, Spanish or Italian and travels with you. The boat's fuel is included in the price, as are the drinks and snacks; anything beyond that — lunch, gratuities, transport to the departure point if you don't start in Salerno — you arrange. Service animals are welcome on board.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want to set your own pace along the coast instead of following a fixed group schedule — the private boat and your choice of stops mean you linger where the water is calmest or the village appeals to you, and skip the rest. The seven-hour window is long enough to visit all seven villages or to anchor offshore for extended swimming and snorkeling without rushing between stops.

Top questions

Can I board from Positano instead of Salerno?

Yes. You can board from Salerno, Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori, Minori, Amalfi, Praiano or Positano — whichever works best for where you're staying. The boat is yours for the day regardless of the starting point.

What is the Marmorata waterfall?

The Marmorata is a natural waterfall that flows directly from the rock face into the sea along the Amalfi Coast. The boat stops there and you can swim and bathe under the falling water.

Is lunch included?

Lunch is not included, but the boat can stop at one of the seaside restaurants along the coast where local fishermen sell fresh fish daily. You order and pay there.

What snorkeling spots will we visit?

The boat carries snorkeling equipment and can anchor at multiple points along the coast — the Pandora Cave with its blue-green water, the Santa Croce cove, and other spots you choose. You decide where to enter the water and how long to stay.
