The experience
You board from one of six departure points along the coast (Praiano, Salerno, Maiori, Positano, Cetara or Amalfi), and spend seven hours sailing the stretch between Vietri and Positano. The boat stops at Crestarella beach, a 120-metre strand of sand and small pebbles backed by Torre Crestarella, a 16th-century tower built by the Spanish viceroy. From there the route passes Cetara, once a Saracen fortress, then reaches Spiaggia dei Limoni, a 20-metre bay accessible only by sea, sheltered by a lemon grove and a rocky wall. Each stop is chosen because the boat can reach it and the water invites you in.
The day builds toward Fiordo di Furore, a bay with clear shallow water and pebbles under tall cliffs. The light is strongest at midday when the sun reaches down the rock face. Beyond that lie Praiano and the Galli islet, where the coast opens into what locals say already feels like paradise. Then comes Positano, the famous white and pastel village of arches and domes built into the rocks, where you can swim or walk the colored boutiques and galleries. The route ends with a pass by Atrani and Amalfi, either viewed from the water or explored on foot through narrow stepped streets lined with majolica tiles and lemon cream shops. A guide travels with the boat and speaks English, Italian, French or German throughout the day.
Water and prosecco are on board. Scuba equipment is available if you want to use it. The boat has a restroom. Pickup is included from your chosen departure town, so you do not arrange separate transport to the pier. Children and infants are welcome. Service animals travel too.
