Swim at the Faraglioni, then explore Capri's grottoes from the water

A full-day boat tour departing Cetara on the Amalfi Coast, guided by a skipper, that circles Capri to visit three sea caves and the Faraglioni rock formations, includes a swim stop and time to walk around Marina Piccola village, and returns with a final swim off Positano. The boat carries snorkel gear, towels, soft drinks and an aperitif with appetizers. The Blue Grotto entry fee is separate.

The experience

Cetara, a fishing village on the Amalfi Coast, is where your boat departs at dawn for a seven-hour run to Capri. The skipper navigates the coastline and circles the island to reach the White Grotto and Green Grotto, both accessible from the water without an additional fee. The Blue Grotto, the most famous of the three, requires a separate ticket (€20–€50 per person) and a transfer to a smaller rowboat at the entrance. Between cave visits, you'll stop to swim at the Faraglioni, the three limestone stacks that rise from the sea off Capri's eastern edge.

Around midday, the boat pulls into Marina Piccola, the main beach on Capri's south side. You have time to go ashore, walk through the center of the village, and explore on your own schedule: the skipper coordinates the timing with you so nobody gets left behind. On the return journey to Cetara, there's a final swim stop off Positano, a village clinging to the cliffs above the water. The boat arrives back at Cetara at 5:30pm.

Onboard, you have snorkel gear available, beach towels, soft drinks (water, cola, Fanta), beer, prosecco, and an aperitif with fresh fruit and appetizers. The skipper speaks English and Italian, so commentary and safety briefings come in both languages. Fuel is included in the price.
