The boat leaves Molo Manfredi in Salerno at 9:30 am and spends the next seven hours moving slowly along the coast. The pace is slow enough that you can photograph the cliffs and the pastel houses without rushing; it's not a speed run to Positano.

Two stops anchor the day. Amalfi gets a full hour: you step off the boat into the main piazza, walk the cathedral, browse the shops along the waterfront, and sit for a coffee if you want one. An hour later you're back aboard and heading south. Positano, the most photographed town on the coast, gets the same hour—enough time to climb the main street, find a restaurant with a terrace, or just sit on the beach and watch the water. Between these two stops, the boat pulls into smaller bays and coves that have no road access; you can swim in the water or stay on deck with a drink. The crew brings out prosecco in the morning, limoncello and biscuits in the afternoon, and bottled water is always available.

The boat itself is a traditional Gozzi Sorrentino—wooden, narrow and built for these waters. It has a toilet and changing room on board, a shower, a shaded cabin area and a sunbathing deck. The skipper and a hostess stay with the group the whole day and speak both English and Italian. Groups are kept small, which is why the boat doesn't feel crowded even when it's full. You're back at the port in Salerno by 4:30 pm.
