Explore desert and sunset experience

The experience
The tour starts with a guided walk through Kuldhara Village, a deserted settlement where you'll learn the history behind its abandonment. After exploring the heritage site, you head into the desert as the afternoon light shifts. A camel ride lasting about an hour and a half carries you across the sand dunes while the sun drops toward the horizon: the moment most people come for, and the one the timing is built around.
Dinner happens in the desert itself, freshly cooked and served as the light fades. Tea, snacks and mineral water come throughout the day. Hotel pickup and drop-off in Jaisalmer are included, and your guide speaks English and knows the area well enough to answer questions about both the village and the landscape you're moving through.

Is this one for you?The camel ride and the full day of travel mean this tour asks for a moderate pace and several hours in the saddle. It suits travelers who are comfortable on a camel and want the dunes and sunset as the centerpiece, not a quick stop between other activities.
