The experience

The tour starts with pickup from a pre-decided location in Jaisalmer and heads straight into the desert. Your first stop is Kuldhara Village, an abandoned settlement that locals call the Ghost Village: a place frozen in time where you can walk through empty streets and get a sense of what village life looked like before the settlement was left behind. From there, the route takes you deeper into the dunes to begin the camel safari, a roughly ninety-minute ride across the sand that ends as the sun drops toward the horizon. The light at that hour turns the dunes gold, and you'll have time to take in the view before the camp team meets you at the site.

Dinner happens around a campfire, cooked fresh on the spot: simple food made from local ingredients, the kind that tastes different when you're eating it in the open air with sand under your feet.
