Step-by-step itinerary
Desert safari with camel ride and camping

- Watch sunset over the dunes
- Reach camping site by camel
- Enjoy dinner over open fire
- Spend night under the stars
The experience
The tour picks you up and drives you first to Jaseri Pond, a 400-year-old lake built in Dedha Village as an act of devotion. From there you head to Khabha, a half-abandoned village 35 kilometers from Jaisalmer where ruins of houses over 250 years old scatter across the landscape and farmers still graze herds the traditional way. These stops set the rhythm of rural Rajasthan before the desert itself takes over.
The camel ride begins in late afternoon and carries you out to the dunes as the sun drops. You watch the light change across the sand from the back of the camel, then arrive at the camping site as day ends. Dinner happens over an open fire: simple, cooked in front of you. You sleep on a bed with blankets provided, not on the ground, which means you wake rested enough to eat breakfast before the drive back to Jaisalmer.
A live English-speaking guide travels with the group. Water is unlimited throughout the twenty hours, and the whole experience (transport, the camel ride, both meals, bed and bedding) is bundled into one price. You can choose between a version that emphasizes the dinner on the dunes or the full overnight stay in the desert. Either way, you leave Jaisalmer in the afternoon and return the next morning.
