Jeju Island cruise tour: Seongsan Ilchulbong, cave and haenyeo
See the volcanic peak, the world's largest lava cave and working haenyeo divers without leaving the port schedule behind.
A private tour from your Jeju cruise terminal designed to fit the ship's turnaround time, with a guide speaking English, Japanese or Chinese and all transport, entry and insurance included. The route depends on which terminal you dock at: from Seogwipo, you visit Jeongbang waterfall, Seongsan Ilchulbong and Manjanggul Cave. From Jeju city, you add the Jeju Haenyeo Museum and Seongeup Folk Village instead. Manjanggul is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site with a 7.4km lava tube system, though visitors walk only 1km past formations like the world's highest lava column. The itinerary shifts if the cave or museum closes, and the whole day adjusts to your ship's departure time.

Step-by-step itinerary
Explore Jeju Island highlights
- Visit Hamdeok Beach
- Hike Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak
- Watch haenyeo divers at Seongsanpo Port
- Tour Seongeup Folk Village
- Explore Manjanggul Lava Tube
The experience
The lava column at the end of Manjanggul Cave stands 7.6 meters high, the tallest in the world, and you walk into the tunnel itself rather than viewing it from outside. The cave formed thousands of years ago and remains one of the largest lava tubes on earth, with stalactites, stalagmites and flowstone formations visible as you move through the 18-meter-wide main passage. If the cave closes on the first Wednesday of the month, Bijarim Forest replaces it on your itinerary.
Seongsan Ilchulbong, the tuff cone that erupted from the ocean floor about 5,000 years ago, sits at the opposite end of the day. You can walk to the summit for views of the volcanic crater and the surrounding sea, or stay at the base to watch haenyeo (female divers) at work in Seongsanpo Port. The haenyeo are UNESCO-recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, and seeing them dive for seafood gives you a look at a practice that has shaped Jeju life for generations. If you dock in Jeju city instead of Seogwipo, you'll visit the Jeju Haenyeo Museum to learn their history before heading to the peak. If the museum is closed on Monday, Bijarim Forest Road becomes your stop instead.
Your guide speaks English, Japanese or Chinese and handles all logistics: pickup from your terminal, entry fees to each site, fuel and parking. The tour runs 7 to 8 hours, which means it's built to get you back before the ship leaves. You choose between a regular taxi, a jumbo taxi or a minibus depending on your group size, and the vehicle is part of your booking. Insurance is included. Dongmun Traditional Market, a large seafood market in Jeju city, may replace a closed attraction, and the whole schedule flexes around your actual ship departure time.

Is this one for you?Book the regular taxi if you're traveling solo or as a couple; the jumbo taxi fits a small family; the minibus works for a larger group or when you want more space. The whole tour adjusts to your ship's departure time, so the schedule is built around when you need to be back at the terminal, not around typical tour hours.

Live guide in English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese.
What is Manjanggul Cave like to walk through?
Manjanggul is a lava tube about 7.4 kilometers long, though tourists walk only 1 kilometer into it. The main tunnel is 18 meters wide and 23 meters high, with stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones and lava formations visible throughout. The lava column at the far end of the tourist section is 7.6 meters tall and is the highest lava column in the world.
Can I see the haenyeo divers, and what do they do?
Yes. You can watch haenyeo at work in Seongsanpo Port near Seongsan Ilchulbong. The haenyeo are female divers who harvest seafood from the ocean and represent a UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage practice that has been central to Jeju life for generations. If you dock in Jeju city, the Jeju Haenyeo Museum tells their history before you visit the port.
How does the tour change depending on which cruise terminal I use?
If you dock at Seogwipo Gangjeong Cruise Terminal, the tour includes Jeongbang waterfall, Oedogae rock formation, Seongsan Ilchulbong and Manjanggul Cave. If you dock in Jeju city, you visit the Jeju Haenyeo Museum, Seongsan Ilchulbong, Seongeup Folk Village and Manjanggul Cave instead. Both routes include the same major sites but in different order and with different secondary stops.
What happens if Manjanggul Cave or the Haenyeo Museum is closed?
If Manjanggul Cave is closed on the first Wednesday of the month, Bijarim Forest replaces it. If the Haenyeo Museum is closed on Monday, Bijarim Forest Road becomes your stop instead. Dongmun Traditional Market or Hamdeok Beach may also substitute if needed.
Does the tour time adjust for my ship's departure?

What's included in the price?
Pickup and drop-off from your cruise terminal, all entry and admission fees, transport in your chosen vehicle (regular taxi, jumbo taxi or minibus), fuel, parking, insurance and a guide speaking English, Japanese or Chinese are all included. Food, drinks and gratuities are not included.
