The experience
The day starts at Mysterious Road, where you park on a downhill slope and the car appears to roll backward uphill. A 3-degree optical illusion that has drawn visitors since a newlywed couple's photograph went viral in 1981. From there, the route climbs to Eoseungsaengak Peak, a 1.3-kilometer walk to the summit that takes about 30 minutes one way. On clear days, you see Chujado Island, Biyangdo Island, and Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak in the distance. At the top sits Tochka, a Japanese military facility from 1945 now sunken into the landscape.
Jeongbang Waterfall is one of Jeju's three major falls and the only one in Korea that drops directly from land into the sea. At 23 meters high and 8 meters wide, it flows white against the ocean after a five-minute descent through pine-lined stairs. The tour then moves through Seogwipo's Olle Market, a permanent traditional market where you can taste Jeju specialties like omegi rice cakes, tangerines, and black pork. The final stop is Yongmeori Coast, where 30 to 50-meter sandstone cliffs carved by waves over millions of years form a dragon-head shape. A flat wave groove runs along the base, creating a walkable trail that takes about 30 minutes to circle. Haenyeo (women divers) sell fresh seafood from stalls along the shore.
The vehicle is air-conditioned, and the driver handles all parking and fuel. WiFi is available on board. Lunch and attraction tickets are optional purchases. If you choose lunch, it runs approximately 15,000 Korean won per person, and admission fees range from 6 to 16 USD depending on the site.

What is the Mysterious Road and why does the car seem to go uphill when it should roll down?
Mysterious Road is an optical illusion created by a 3-degree downhill slope that appears to be uphill. When you park and turn off the engine, the car rolls backward, seeming to defy gravity: a phenomenon that became famous after a newlywed couple photographed it in 1981 and the image spread worldwide.
How long does it take to climb Eoseungsaengak Peak and what can you see from the top?
The walk to the 1,169-meter summit takes about 30 minutes one way on a 1.3-kilometer trail. On clear days, you see Chujado Island, Biyangdo Island, and Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak across the sea, and the remains of Tochka, a Japanese military facility built in 1945.
Is Jeongbang Waterfall really the only waterfall in Korea that falls into the sea?
Yes, Jeongbang Waterfall is Korea's only waterfall that drops directly from land into the ocean. It is 23 meters high and 8 meters wide, and flows white against the sea after you descend pine-lined stairs for about five minutes from the entrance.
What is Yongmeori Coast and how much time do you spend there?
Yongmeori Coast is a dragon-shaped rock formation at the foot of Sanbangsan Mountain, with 30 to 50-meter sandstone cliffs carved by waves over millions of years. A flat wave groove at the base serves as a walking trail. The full circuit takes about 30 minutes, and haenyeo sell fresh seafood from stalls along the shore.
Does the tour include lunch and attraction tickets?
