The experience

The core of this tour is control. You book the vehicle and the driver for three full days, then tell the operator which sites matter to you: Jeongbang Falls (the only waterfall in Asia that drops straight into the ocean), the Teddy Bear Museum, Hallim Park, volcanic craters, coastal cliffs, or any combination. The driver handles navigation and logistics. You decide when to stop, how long to linger, and whether to skip a site altogether. Changes are free up until departure. Once the tour starts, the itinerary is fixed.

Pickup happens at your hotel in downtown Jeju City and includes the driver, fuel, parking and insurance. The daily distance limit is 130 kilometers on the east or west/south routes. If you want to roam further, you pay extra to the driver (15,000–20,000 won per 10 kilometers). Guides speak English, Chinese or Japanese. A basic English speaker is included, or you can upgrade to an advanced speaker for an additional daily fee paid at checkout. The vehicle comes in three sizes: a sedan or SUV for four passengers, a van for up to eight, or a minibus for larger groups.

The three-day structure lets you cover ground without rushing. Day one typically explores the east side: Woljeongri Beach, Seongsan Ilchulbong with its women diver show, and either Seopjikoji or Sangumburi Crater depending on the season. Day two swings west through Hallim Park, O'Sulloc Tea Museum, Yongmeori Coast and Cheonjeyeon Falls. Day three heads south to Mysterious Road, the Teddy Bear Museum, Jeongbang Waterfall and Oedolgae Rock. But these are suggestions. You build the actual route. If a major site closes (Manjanggul Lava Tube shuts the first Wednesday of each month), the driver offers an alternative without rerouting your whole day.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What happens if I want to visit sites outside the standard east, west or south routes?

You can add extra distance beyond the 130-kilometer daily limit by paying the driver directly: 15,000 to 20,000 won per 10 kilometers. Time extensions also cost extra: 30,000 to 70,000 won per hour depending on the vehicle type, paid to the driver or guide on the day.

Can I change my itinerary after I book?

Yes, you can modify your stops and route up until the tour starts. Once the first day begins, the itinerary is locked and changes aren't permitted.

What is Seongsan Ilchulbong and why is it on so many itineraries?

Seongsan Ilchulbong, also called Sunrise Peak, is a 182-meter tuff cone formed by volcanic eruptions about 5,000 years ago. It sits on Jeju's eastern shore and looks like an ancient castle. Most tours include a women diver show there and a walk around the crater rim.

Is pickup from my hotel included, or only from downtown Jeju City?

Pickup and drop-off are included if your hotel is in downtown Jeju City. Hotels outside that area incur an additional charge of 40,000 to 120,000 won, paid at checkout depending on distance.

What happens if Manjanggul Lava Tube is closed when I visit?

Manjanggul Lava Tube closes on the first Wednesday of each month. If it's closed during your tour, the driver offers Jeju Haenyeo Museum (featuring the island's traditional female divers) as an alternative stop without disrupting the rest of your day.
