The experience
The tour opens at Seongeup Folk Village, where stone-walled homes and castles built during the Joseon Dynasty still stand as they were centuries ago, designed to withstand both wind and invasion. From there you move to Seopjikoji, a clifftop at the eastern edge of Jeju where the landscape shifts with the season: yellow canola flowers in spring, pink muhly grass in autumn, hydrangeas in early summer. The route follows the island's eastern shore, building toward the afternoon's main events.
At Seongsan Ilchulbong, a 182-meter tuff cone formed five thousand years ago by underwater volcanic eruptions, you watch a live haenyeo performance at 2 p.m.: Jeju's legendary women divers descending without oxygen tanks in a display of breath-holding skill passed down through generations. If the performance is canceled, the Haenyeo Museum becomes the stop instead. The hike up Seongsan itself takes 50 minutes and offers views across the crater and out to sea. Entry to the peak costs extra and is purchased on-site. Lunch at a local restaurant breaks the day midway through.
Manjanggul Lava Tube, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the world's finest lava tunnels: vast underground passages carved by volcanic flows, with unique formations and a cool year-round temperature that makes it feel like stepping into Jeju's geological past. After the cave, the tour offers drop-off points at Hamdeok Beach and Dongmun Traditional Market, where you can explore on your own or end the day. Schedules shift with the season and on-site conditions, and luggage over 28 inches counts as an extra passenger.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Infant (under 3).
What is the haenyeo diving performance like?
The haenyeo show is a live performance at Seongsan Ilchulbong at 2 p.m., where Jeju's sea women dive into the ocean without oxygen tanks. If the performance is canceled due to weather or other conditions, the tour visits the Haenyeo Museum instead (except Mondays, when the museum is closed).
Do I have to pay extra to hike Seongsan Ilchulbong?
Yes, the entrance fee to Seongsan Ilchulbong is not included in the tour price. Adults pay 5,000 KRW and youth pay 2,500 KRW at the gate on the day. The 50-minute hike is guaranteed for guests who choose to do it.
What is Manjanggul Lava Tube like inside?
Manjanggul is a UNESCO World Heritage lava tunnel formed thousands of years ago by volcanic activity. It features massive underground passages, unique lava formations, and stays cool year-round, giving you a direct look at Jeju's volcanic history and geology.
Where does the tour pick me up and drop me off?
You choose your pickup location at booking: Jeju Airport (8:45 a.m.), Lotte Duty Free (8:30 a.m.), Shilla Duty Free (8:20 a.m.), or Ocean Suites Hotel (9:00 a.m.). Round-trip transfers are included. The tour ends with optional drop-offs at Hamdeok Beach or Dongmun Traditional Market, where you can explore on your own.
What happens if the weather is bad or the schedule changes?
Schedules may vary depending on on-site conditions and the season. The haenyeo performance, for example, may be canceled in rough seas, in which case the Haenyeo Museum is visited instead. The tour operator will adjust the itinerary as needed on the day.
