The experience
The tour starts with hotel pickup in Seogwipo's old or new town, then moves through Jeju's volcanic landscape on the island's western side. Camellia Hill opens the day: a private flower garden where seasonal blooms shift through the year. From there, the route reaches O'Sulloc Tea Museum, where green tea fields spread across the hillside and visitors taste the tea on-site. The museum also stocks Innisfree cosmetics, the Korean beauty brand that originated here. The guide is Fabio, who has led tours on Jeju since 2014 and speaks English only: no shared-vehicle tours in other languages.
The afternoon splits between two kinds of coastal time. A walking trail connects Aewol-ri town to Gwakji Gwamul beach along the northwestern shore, passing local cafes where you can stop for tea or coffee. Gwakji Gwamul itself is known for its low-tide reveal: white sand and broken shells with clear, shallow water that creates the optical illusion of being able to walk to Biyangdo Island in the distance. Between these two beaches, the route passes Shinchang windmill on the coast, where the wind itself becomes the subject. Songaksan Mountain, a volcanic tuff cone shaped by eruption and erosion, offers a coastal stroll with views of the formations. The day closes at Sanbangsan Mountain, where stone stairs lead up to Sanbanggulsa temple, a Buddhist site built into the tuff lava dome overlooking Yongmeori Beach.
Admission to all parks and attractions is included, as is the van and the guide's time. Lunch is not included, and the itinerary leaves room to eat in Aewol-ri or elsewhere along the route. The group maxes out at twelve travelers, though the average is eight.
