The experience
The tour moves through the island's southern half, starting at O'Sulloc Tea Museum (Korea's first tea museum, opened in 2001 by AMOREPACIFIC), where you walk through galleries on Korean tea culture and rest in a nature-friendly space with a cafe. From there the route follows the coast: Yongmeori Coast, a sandstone formation built up over tens of millions of years, where a Dutch monument sits at the foot of the cliffs. Songaksan Mountain, a cinder cone with a 69-meter crater that still shows its original volcanic form and now draws visitors along narrow paths to the peak.
The afternoon centers on two of Jeju's most photographed coastal landmarks. Oedolgae is a 20-meter stone pillar rising alone from the sea (called "General Stone" or "Grandma Rock" in local legend) with pine trees growing naturally on top and a different silhouette depending on where you stand. Jusangjeolli Cliff, near the Jungmun Resort area, runs along the coastline with gigantic rock pillars that form the view most visitors come for. Jeongbang Waterfall drops 23 meters straight off a cliff into a pool before flowing to the sea. The Waljong Art Gallery sits on the cliff behind it, filled with works by artist Lee Wal Jong expressing Jeju's landscape. The tour also passes the rainbow coastal road in Dodu-dong, where the sky and sea colors meet, and stops at Seogwipo Olle Market, the largest traditional market in the southern city, where you see how locals shop and eat.
You pick the vehicle at checkout: a regular taxi for smaller groups, a jumbo taxi or minivan for families or groups up to eight. The driver speaks English, Japanese or Chinese depending on your choice. Insurance, fuel and parking fees are all included in the price. You arrange pickup from any location in Jeju and return to the same place. The itinerary is typical, but the operator will customize it if you ask before booking.
