The experience

Delhi kicks off with a morning pickup between 9 and 11 AM from anywhere in the city or nearby areas like Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad or Faridabad. The first day moves through the Red Fort (a UNESCO site with gardens and 17th-century architecture), then to Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques, where you can climb the minaret for views over the old city. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib comes next, a Sikh temple with a tank of water said to have healing properties since the eighth Guru visited in 1664. You'll choose between Swaminarayan Akshardham, a massive Hindu temple built in 2005 with thousand-year-old architectural style, or Humayun's Tomb. On the drive toward Jaipur, you stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a fortified city 40 kilometers west of Agra that served as the Mughal capital between 1572 and 1585 under Emperor Akbar. The final day begins at Amber Fort, a 600-year-old hilltop fortress built with marble and red sandstone in Hindu style: the itinerary mentions an elephant ride to the entrance, though the exact availability depends on the day.
