The tour runs eight hours and moves through five major stops: Amber Fort on the hilltop with its palaces and courtyards; a step well from the sixteenth century; Jal Mahal, the Water Palace floating in Sagar Lake (viewed from the roadside, as entry is restricted); City Palace, built when Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II moved his court to Jaipur in 1727; and Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory with the world's largest stone sundial.

The vehicle is an air-conditioned mid-size sedan or SUV, and the tour includes hotel drop-off at the end. Bottled water, fuel, parking and tolls are covered. A moderate amount of walking happens at each stop, so wear shoes that won't slow you down. The guide is available in English or Hindi, subject to availability. This is a private tour, so only your group participates: no strangers on the van, no shared stops.

Monument entrance fees, camera fees and meals are not included and come out of pocket. Dress code is smart casual. Shorts and sleeveless tops are not recommended at the temples.
