The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel or location in Jaipur. A private car and driver take you 11 km north to Amer Fort, a hilltop palace with maze-like passages and serpentine staircases that sits above the town of Amer. From there you walk through narrow streets of the old town to reach Panna Meena Stepwell, a geometric water reservoir with symmetrical staircases carved into stone: a working architectural wonder that draws thousands of visitors each year. The stepwell's design is purely functional, but the proportions and repetition make it a striking spot for photographs.
