The experience

The driver picks you up at your hotel at 9 AM and heads first to Amber Fort, where you spend two hours walking the palace complex and its courtyards. From there the route moves through Jal Mahal, a 20-minute stop at the water palace, then Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds, for another 20 minutes before reaching Jantar Mantar, the 18th-century astronomical observation site, where you have 40 minutes to see the stone instruments. City Palace comes next, another two-hour stop where parts of the palace remain a royal residence and parts are open to visitors.

The afternoon shifts to shopping in Jaipur's markets and specialty shops. You'll have two hours to browse gemstones, silver jewelry, bangles, textiles and blue pottery (the goods Jaipur is known for) with the guide and driver available if you want recommendations or help with purchases. The full day wraps by late afternoon, and the driver returns you to your hotel.

Private transportation means the pace stays yours: you're not waiting for other groups or moving on someone else's schedule.
