The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel, airport or station. Your driver takes you first to the Fort of Jaipur, a 16th-century hilltop structure built by Raja Man Singh I with views across the city, then down to Panna Meena Stepwell: a 16th-century architectural gem with symmetrical step design that once served as a community gathering place and now sits quiet and cool, a pocket of history most visitors miss.

From there the tour moves through the landmarks that define the Pink City. Jal Mahal, the water palace on Man Sagar Lake, appears to float on the lake's surface. Royal Gator near Nahagarh Fort holds the tombs of Jaipur's Maharajas, including the city's founder Jai Singh. Then comes Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds, the five-story pink pyramid with intricate latticework windows built so royal court ladies could watch the street below without being seen.
