Step-by-step itinerary
Cave tubing and zip lining adventure
- Travel from Belize City
- Take a dip at cave entrance
- Tube down river and caves
- Gear up for zip lining
- Zip line through forest
The experience
The day starts with cave tubing on a river that the Maya believed led to Xibalbá, the underworld of their death gods. You float down the river on a tube, passing through cave entrances and viewing the rock formations and artwork carved into the stone. The caves themselves are the main event here. You're not watching them from a distance, but moving through them at water level, taking in the scale and detail as you drift.
After lunch and a break, you move to the ziplining area, which has ten platforms and seven separate runs. The longest stretches over 600 feet. The highest climbs more than 150 feet above the forest floor. Two experienced guides gear you up and walk you through each run. All equipment is provided. The setup means you spend your time actually zipping, not waiting or gearing up repeatedly. You move from platform to platform with the guides handling the logistics.
Hotel pickup is included, and you travel in an air-conditioned van with your private guide. The group may share transport with other bookings, but your guide and your itinerary stay yours alone. Lunch is a Belizean meal of rice and beans, stewed chicken, and a choice of potato salad or coleslaw, with sodas and bottled water included. The whole experience runs about five hours from start to finish.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (10 to 17 years); Child (4 to 9 years). Under 4: they can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
How long does the ziplining part actually take?
The ziplining section itself is part of the five-hour day, which includes cave tubing, lunch, and travel time. You work through seven runs across the ten platforms with two guides managing the pace, so you're moving continuously rather than waiting between lines.
What happens if I've never zipped before?
The two guides gear you up and walk you through each run before you go. All equipment is provided and fitted for you. The guides stay with your group for the entire ziplining section, so you're not launching blind.
What's the cave tubing actually like?
You float on a tube down a river and into caves with rock formations and Maya artwork inside. It's not a fast ride. You're drifting at the river's pace, so you can see the cave entrance, the stone walls, and the carvings as you move through. The water is calm enough for tubing, and you'll get wet.
Do I need to arrange my own way to the caves and ziplining area?
No. Hotel pickup from Belize City is included, and you travel in an air-conditioned van with your guide. The van handles all transport to both the cave tubing site and the ziplining area.
