Step-by-step itinerary
Zip-line through Belize rainforest canopy

- Zip-line through rainforest canopy
- See wildlife like monkeys and toucans
- Cross river on two zip lines
- Return to starting platform
The experience
You arrive at one of Belize's certified ziplining sites and get fitted into your harness and helmet. Two guides assigned to you for the entire experience walk you through the setup, then you're ready to move through the rainforest canopy. The five lines are spaced so you travel with minimal ground walking between them. Most of the time you're suspended above the forest floor.
Two of the lines cross the river. Each one connects to a platform, so the path loops back: you zip across, land on the platform, and the next line brings you back toward where you started. While you're moving through the canopy, you may see howler monkeys, green iguanas, toucans and other bird species. The guides keep the site as natural as possible, so wildlife encounters depend on the day. The whole outing runs about three hours from start to finish.
Pickup is included in the booking. Guides speak English or Spanish, so you can choose the language that works for you. Children from age one can go if they're with an adult: infants sit on a parent's lap during transport. The guides have five years on the job and safety is their priority throughout.

Is this one for you?If you speak Spanish or English comfortably, either guide option works equally well. The three-hour timeframe suits a free afternoon or a half-day slot in your itinerary, and the minimal walking means you don't need extensive hiking experience. Just a moderate level of fitness and comfort being suspended above the forest.
