The experience
You'll zip across seven lines strung over the Belizean savanna, rivers and crocodile pools, with rope bridges connecting the platforms. Proper helmets, gloves and harnesses are provided, and the guide briefs you on the setup before you clip in. Between zips you walk the elevated bridges. The real thrill is the height and the view, not speed. After the ziplining, you'll descend to feed live freshwater crocodiles from a safe distance, which is the part families talk about afterward.
The second half of the morning takes you to the Baboon Sanctuary, where you get close to the monkeys, photograph them and watch them move through the trees. The whole outing runs about three hours from pickup to drop-off. On the drive back to your hotel, you can choose to stop at a rum factory or the Belize sign for photos. Both are optional, so you decide whether the day ends there or you want one more stop.
Private transport means your group travels alone in an air-conditioned vehicle, not bundled with strangers. The guide speaks English or Spanish depending on what you need, and children from age 6 can participate if they're comfortable with heights and have moderate fitness.
