The experience
The day starts with pickup at your Puerto Iguazu hotel and a short drive to Iguazú National Park, where your guide meets you at the entrance. You'll walk three distinct levels of the park: each one revealing a different angle of the falls. The lower trail descends into a misty cavern where the sound of water fills the air. The upper trail climbs to a footbridge with panoramic views across the entire cascade. In between, you'll reach the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), an 80-meter drop where the Iguazu River plunges at 1.5 million liters per second, and the mist and roar create an overwhelming encounter with the raw force of the falls.
After the boardwalks, you'll board an eco-friendly train that winds through the jungle canopy, then transfer to 4x4 vehicles for a safari along the Yacaratiá and Puerto Macuco trails deep in the subtropical rainforest. Your guide shares details about the park's biodiversity as you travel. When the trail ends, you descend to the dock where the final stage begins: a boat ride through the canyon of the Lower Iguazu River. Wearing a life jacket, you navigate toward the base of the falls, where the spray, the sound and the sheer volume of water create the most direct experience of the day.
You can book this tour two ways: the boardwalk-only version covers the three levels and Devil's Throat on foot, or you can add the Great Adventure boat ride for the full sequence including the jungle train and safari. Children under 12 cannot join the boat portion. Bring a waterproof case for your phone or camera, sunscreen, a hat and water. If you're taking the boat, pack a change of clothes or a raincoat because you will get wet. The tour requires a minimum number of travelers. If it doesn't meet that threshold, you'll be offered an alternative date or a full refund.

Is this one for you?Choose the boardwalk-only version if you want to see all three levels of the falls and Devil's Throat on foot without the water exposure. Add the Great Adventure if you want the jungle train, safari and the boat ride that takes you directly beneath the falls. The boat option is not available for children under 12, so families with younger kids should book the walk-only tour.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (12 to 13 years); Infant (under 1): free.
What is the Garganta del Diablo and why does it matter on this tour?
The Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat) is an 80-meter waterfall where the Iguazu River drops at its most powerful point, and it's the centerpiece of the upper boardwalk. You'll cross a footbridge directly above it, surrounded by the deafening roar and mist, making it the most intense moment of the walk.
Does this tour include the boat ride, or is that a separate choice?
The boat ride is optional. You can book the boardwalk-only version to explore the three levels and Devil's Throat on foot, or add the Great Adventure option, which includes the jungle train, 4x4 safari and the boat ride beneath the falls.
How long does the full tour take, and what time does it start?
The tour runs 10 to 11 hours total. It begins with hotel pickup in Puerto Iguazu and ends at the base of the falls after the boat ride (or at the upper boardwalk if you choose the walk-only option).
What should I bring for the boat ride?
Bring a change of clothes or a raincoat that covers your whole body, because the boat approaches the base of the falls and you will get wet. Waterproof bags are provided by the company for your belongings, and life jackets are supplied for the boat.
